Located just steps from the vibrant Cleethorpes seafront, Brown's Cafe is a cherished local gem that perfectly captures the essence of a classic British breakfast restaurant and cafe. Whether you’re craving a comforting Full English Breakfast or simply seeking a cozy spot for a large coffee crowned with whipped cream, Brown's Cafe serves up a delightful blend of familiar flavors and seaside charm.
The menu at Brown’s is a tempting array of hearty, well-executed classics and casual favorites that appeal to diners of all ages and tastes. Picture a plate brimming with thick back bacon, perfectly fried eggs, and black pudding cooked to succulent perfection—all accompanied by golden fried bread that offers just the right crunch. The Full English Breakfast Plus, hailed by regulars as a generous and satisfying start to any day, is a testament to the kitchen’s attention to comfort food done right.
Brown’s isn’t just about breakfast, either. Their fish and chips—crispy on the outside, tender inside—are a must-try, especially when paired with mushy peas or their double fishcake chips with curry sauce, offering a nostalgic taste of coastal Britain with a twist. For those seeking lighter fare, the tuna salad and jacket potatoes provide fresh, wholesome options that don’t compromise on flavor. And for a sweet finish, indulge in a creamy ice cream cone or one of their assorted cakes, each bite a little celebration.
The drink selection complements the food perfectly: rich Cadbury’s hot chocolate warming you inside on a chilly morning, freshly brewed cappuccinos that carry a velvety smoothness, or a steaming cup of traditional tea, the aroma filling the air with comforting familiarity. Brown’s also offers a selection of sandwiches and baps—from simple bacon or sausage rolls to satisfying bacon, lettuce, and tomato baguettes—ideal for a quick yet hearty bite.
Beyond the delicious menu, Brown's Cafe delivers a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes every visit feel like coming home. The attentive staff, praised repeatedly for their friendly and professional service, add a personal touch that resonates with locals and visitors alike. Customers like Rebecca Hickson and Steve Blundell return time and again, drawn not just by the food, but by the genuine care and consistency that Charlie and his team bring to each plate.
Whether you’re stopping by after a long drive, as Colin Gardener recounts, or gathering with friends for an all-day breakfast, you’ll find Brown's to be a welcoming retreat where the food is hearty, the service is sincere, and the views of the beach add an extra layer of enjoyment to your dining experience.
In a town with myriad options, Brown’s Cafe stands out for its ability to evoke nostalgia, satisfy cravings, and offer a reliably excellent meal each time. It’s more than a cafe—it’s a place where comfort food meets seaside hospitality, inviting you to slow down, savor, and return.
You can always rely on Browns for top quality food and service everytime! We went on New years day for a full english and everything was cooked to perfection and all the staff are friendly and professional. I no longer live local so each time I come home I always pop in and it never disappoints, Charlie and his team are fantastic! Totally recommend
Needed some refreshment after a long drive. This seafront cafe hit the spot. Dog friendly. We ordered a baked potato with chicken, 2 tuna mayo sarnies and some bacon for the dog. Also a couple of fruit juices and a cup of Bovril. Absolutely delicious, banging, top notch, whatever. Sadly we have no plans to return to Cleethorps. But if ever we do, this is a place we will go to
Nice staff helpful and friendly good food clean place to eat .. definitely would go there again.
Went for breakfast with a group of friends and was ok. Food average, not much on plate but tasted ok. Other places in town more value for money but expected for beach cafe. Update today 23rd June 2024 big improvement, food great and staff who served us fantastic, definitely getting it right now.
This is My go to Place for A Full English Breakfast, £9.50 & I can Never eat it all. OK, some things are basic, like the Sausages aren't Top of the Range, & the mushrooms would be better if not tinned ones, but the Black Pudding, Thick back Bacon, great fried Bread, eggs to perfection all combine to naked it fantastic. Friendly atmosphere, fast clean service, & what a view, the beach & sea over the road.
